We're Back!

Yep - we went to Grosse Ile, MI and back today (south of Detroit).... not exactly a quick trip but we made it. I wanted to open this blog with a snappy joke, but I don't have one. We drove over to Grosse Ile to celebrate Christmas with the Russell family (Steve's Mom's side of the family). It was nice - it was held at his Uncle John's church so we had plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults to chit-chat. Everything was going fine until Karlie decided to puke in the sanctuary!!! YUCK!!!!!! We were all in the sanctuary of the church singing Christmas carols when she had to yak all over the both of us (and the floor!). What a mess... that and the fact that Steve's Mom looked like she was coming down with the flu too made our decision for us - go back to Hudsonville.

We actually packed to stay at his parents house through Christmas - we'll now have to wait and see if we go back over or not. I'm totally exhausted but couldn't resist dumping this down into a blog. Sorry that this is so heavy & gross to read but it's been our day - and yes, she puked 4 more times in the car on the way home. We brought her into the house in her car seat and I hosed her off in the tub immediately. The car seat is now being sanitized in the washer. Karlie seems to be doing a little better - she doesn't have a fever and is in good spirits other than having an angry stomach. Oh well, I guess this is the life of a mom. I just thought I would share quickly with who would ever listen to my whoas.....and please pray that the rest of us will be spared.
