It does make me sad to think of all the friends I have had in the past that I don't have connections with any more (for various reasons). They are still my friends, but it's still not the same. I'm so grateful for the new friends that God has brought into my life. It is so true... one is silver and one is gold.... both precious in their own ways!! I had a great time Friday night with some new friends from church. We had a "girls night out", but stayed in at my friend Kristin's house. We had WAY too much food (all yummy delicious, though!). We had great conversation and that's all we did.... we ate and we talked.... typical chick night!! (pictured above, ft row: Kelly, Jen R, Jen B.; back row: Kristin, Lori, Tami, Jess, & me). O.k. I just spent way too long playing my guitar tonight, I need to go to bed!! This was the first time I have picked it up in over a year and I could not put it down...I am ready whenever you are to get together and play!
Our Ladies' small group had a GNO this Spring at my house. We were supposed to play board games all night...It took us most of the evening making our pizzas together, then sitting around them chatting. After one of the other gals (who had to work that night) called to check in on us, we finally decided we'd better play at least ONE game! It WAS a grand time, and we too, decided we'd have to do it again soon. (How long is soon in mommy language?)LOL!
Oh, and 'tis so true about friends. Relationships take much time and energy to nurture, and we all have only so much time. Distance plays a HUGE role in keeping close. I'm thankful we're still at least connected...:-)
