first grade

This week, Nathan came home and said that he learned about gases and liquids. I told him that's cool. He then proceeded to explain them to me... you know mom like a balloon has gas in it (right) and water is a liquid (also right) and the wall is like lettuce... what? wait? lettuce - did I just hear him right? so I asked him again and he definitely said lettuce... so holding back the giggles I said to him "Sweetheart... I think you heard your teacher wrong. She was saying the wall is a solid not a salad"... gotta love the association! I had to give him props - it is pretty hard to hear the difference between the words solid & salad! Too funny! :)

Don't they just make you smile? Wait until they get into high school and start having conversations about chemistry and physics and you don't really know if what they are saying is true or not.(Even as a former engineer!) I just smile and nod...well, I did anyway. Actually, it was great to see Chad and Craig converse on an intellectual level. when did my little boy grow up and get so smart?

btw - I now have a blog on Blogger - moving from xanga. It'll take some time to figure out.
