WOW! Its a gorgeous morning here in Arkansas... and quite quiet since Karlie just got up at 9AM!! (well if you don't count the serenading dogs out back!) I was sitting inside looking outside and decided I should come out back... I absolutely LOVE mornings like this!! No real plans, can go at my own speed, and I can stop and smell my coffee!! I was reminded this morning of some verses and was totally inspired to write them out here on my blog. Not being a writer, it's kinda funny to me that I wanted to write something today!
Psalm 34: 8-10
8O taste and see that the LORD is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
9O fear the LORD, you His saints;
For to those who fear Him there is no want.
10The young lions do lack and suffer hunger;
But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.
Taste, see
fear, seek
In light of ALL that's going on in the world its really easy to start fearing life in general... when's the next major catastrophe going to strike... will it effect me... what do I need to do... will it be here in the United States... how am I suppose to cope with it?? These verses actually give us the answers... we are not to fear this world - we are to fear God. So what does that mean?? Respect Him!! He's the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and HE's in control... not us. Fear God... seek Him... taste and see that He is GOOD!! :) But how can you taste Him? Kinda a weird saying, eh? Not if you draw close to Him by reading His word... the Bible. It's so "juicy", so "meaty", so "fruitful"... but you gotta do it yourself before you can echo with King David in Psalm 34 "taste and see that the LORD is good". But you might say, "where do I start?"... by opening up the Bible and reading Psalm 34! Then maybe the rest of the Psalms or the book of John or maybe Ephesians or maybe 1 John or maybe Genesis or ... just keep reading!! :)

Amen sister! We just found out a cousin is filing for divorce and I sent her the first few verses of Psalm 34 this morning! Amazing we are miles apart and meditating on the same thing! Bless you dear!
Amen and amen! Beautiful verses. Beautiful book.
How true! Thanks for 'writing' this morning!
I would have to get up @ 5am to enjoy a quiet morning around here but we have been enjoying the sunshine and much warmer weather. We have actually spent a couple of days without jackets!
The Lord is good! After a long season of winter, spring is coming - fresh, new, full of hope! Just like our lives once they are covered in the blood of the Lamb!
