Good Morning everyone! And ain't it another beautiful morning?!?! I think it is... another beautiful, but chilly, fall morning here in West Michigan. I've had a couple really crazy, "upsidown" kinda days and I was going to blog about them, but I want to talk about something more fun.... my kids and the fun things they say. Therefore, welcome to my first edition of "kids speak". I need to get this stuff written down somewhere so I can scrapbook about them someday. So, here goes....
What Nathan's saying:
Well, Nathan's talking very clear these days. He really only has a few words now that are tough for him like... pewter (aka computer) and gollilla (aka gorilla). He's finally able to say spaghetti with no problems (if your wondering he use to say "ska-bay-dos", quite unique). What Nathan's struggling with is sentences.... he's got a lot of my vocabulary skills! This morning he said to me when I got him out of bed "Mommy, the sky's here!" and I said yep, the sun is coming up!!! He has a lot of phrases like this and I guess I'm pretty use to it now. Another funny one that he has said lately is "Mommy, I got ichy ivy!". Not exactly sure where he got this one from - he's never had poison ivy but he seems to refer to his "ichy ivy" if he's got any kind of ich. It's very cute.
What David's saying:
Pretty much everything his brother is saying and then some. I call the boys "Pete & Repeat" (what my Dad deemed them!). The kid can YAMMER!!! We took his pacifier away from him about a month ago now and he basically hasn't stopped talking since.... oh, and he can sing, too!! He LOVES to sing. I didn't know he had so many songs bottled up inside of him. I was eating raisin bran one day and there were "Pirates of the Carribean" pictures on the back of the cereal box - he took one look at the box and started singing the Veggie Tales song "we are the pirates, who don't do anything" VERY CUTE!!! David does have a few words that he struggles with like banquet (aka blanket), wabster (aka lobster), and wizzard (no, I mean lizard). Basically, anything with an "L" for him to pronounce, but that just makes his "kid's speak" that much cuter. His favorite song is still "All creatures of our God and King" and I plan on getting that one on video soon!!
What Karlie's saying:
Nothing... well, she is starting to mumble a lot and get out sounds like dddd, bbbb - nothing too clear yet. Although I do think she was trying to say "hi" last night to Daddy when he got home from work! I know in due time she will be gabbing, too.
They are very cute and as much as they argue with each other, I'm trying to remember these fun moments. I'm ashamed to say that I let a lot of what they do irritate me (like fighting, not sharing, hitting, crying, whining - ok these are irritants), but I want to remember that they are only this age for a short time and they will get the behavior stuff one day. They are all very beautiful kids and such GREAT BLESSINGS from God that I don't want to let the irritants overshadow the blessings!! I'm so grateful for them and want to be the best Mom to them I can be.
Ok, that's my 1st edition of "kids speak". I hope you've enjoyed it and hope that you have a wonderful day. I also hope you'll take time today to thank God for your blessings, too!
Love,
Nikki

Glad you are enjoying and working to focus on the positives - the time will fly by, and sooner than you expect or want, they are out of your house...I can still remember Cristin at 14 months - the day Chad was born -, babbling like crazy while shaking and nodding her head. She sure knew what she was talking about.
Oh, Carlie is JUST ADORABLE! Deidre is down for a nap. I emailed you a couple of times, but haven't heard back. Did you get them? Anyway, your blog looks great, and I love the "kidspeak". How do you write around the pictures? I can't do that, and so I just post them!
Love,
Diane
Hi Nikki, It's fun to hear what the Kids are saying! Penelope jibber/jabbers, too - she knows what she is saying! Cambel did that, too! I love it! Thanks for the pics - beautiful children! YES, they will not be little for long! ENJOY THEM! God is good. May He continue to bless you and Steve and the Children! Love, Aunt Betty
