11 months old

Good Morning!

Well, Karlie is officially 11 months old now.... can't believe we'll be celebrating her 1st birthday in less than a month!!! Time has flown by this year. Karlie is doing really well crawling around and getting into everything. I thought I had the baby proofing thing down after the boys, but she's found things to play with that the boys didn't really care about - like electrical cords. So, I've had to re-proof again even more. She's also walking well along the furniture. She only has 3 teeth but I can see the 4th tooth on the surface, so she should have all 4 front teeth before Christmas.

Christmas - oh - that's coming up way too quickly, too!! I know I need to get over this, but I would really like to be able to celebrate Nathan's & Karlie's birthday without it being overshadowed by Christmas (or even more importantly Christmas being overshadowed by their birthday!!) Well, I don't have a good solution for that since their birthday is 12/14 and Christmas is 11 days later.

Ok, backing up a bit, let's talk about Thanksgiving. Talk about a holiday that is now just a blip on the screen for everyone before Christmas. I'm actually becoming a much bigger fan of Thanksgiving because its one of the special holidays that we get together with family without needing to do anything but eat. No worries about gifts and decorations - just get with family and celebrate. And what do we celebrate?? Some might say "I don't know" but I would say "everything that God has provided!!".

We are such a blessed people. We have beds to sleep in, food to eat, clothes to wear, family to love, and even things in abundance. I know not everyone here in the US has the same amount, but we all have a lot more than we are usually thankful for. Most of us have more than we need and yet we belly ache about what we want and don't have. How sorry that must sound to those who really don't even have what they need.

I want to stop this year at Thanksgiving and really remember what God has done for us. He's not only told us that we matter more than the birds of the air (which don't store up food) and the flowers of the field (which are clothed better than King Solomon in all his glory), but He told us not to worry about what we need because He will provide for us if we but seek HIM first (read this for yourself if you don't believe me that God said it.... it's in the Bible, book of Matthew chapter 6 verses 25 -34).

My heart is so thankful for ALL God has done and is doing for me - words can't even describe it all. I hope you will take the time, too, to stop and be thankful for God's provisions in your life.

Ok, on a totally different note... Praise God we had another house showing last Friday. May God's will be done with our old house. And, Kim & Jason decided to name their new baby boy Carter Joseph Edward LaBombard. Kim & Carter are doing great and getting ready now for Thanksgiving. Thanks for all your prayers.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Love,
Nikki
