flippin' cold

Yep, it's winter....bah humbug!! It was "flippin' cold" outside - literally - the wind would flip you around it was so windy. I'm not ready for this... OK, who in reality is ready for subzero temperatures? I guess I do know 2 people that love the cold, but I am not one of them. I tolerate it. I love the snow at CHRISTmas but then I'm ready for it to be warm again. I had to take Nathan to preschool yesterday and it was blowing so bad we ran up to the school to get to shelter as quickly as possible. No snow yet, but the wind was right out of the North and it made the already 29 degree temp of the day feel like single digits. Ok, I have to pause and laugh because I know 2 people who will read this post and laugh because they are still enjoying upper 70's/80's in sunny AZ - so you two will just have to humor me while I complain for a minute (Hi Kim & Aunt Alice!! ;-) ).

So, back to the blog - enough of the weather whining. We are doing good here. We had a good time down in Illinois for Thanksgiviing visiting my family. The picture below is of the family gathered for the holiday (check out my picture link for more Thanksgiving pics). We ate our Thanksgiving feast at my Aunt Cindy's house - thanks Aunt Cindy! You'll also see a picture below of Nathan with my cousin Andy who's a police officer for DeKalb county.... he's part of the K-9 unit. He stopped by while on duty Friday morning to say goodbye. Nathan was so excited to see the "police officer" as he called him so formally.

I actually had quite a busy Friday last week.... I decided to get up and go shopping with my aunt's at 4:00am (you know the after-Thanksgiving crazy shopping time). It was such a fun time and worth it - great deals at Kohl's!! Then we took my Grandma Wilson to lunch and drove back to Michigan. Steve's Mom & Dad were at our house about 5 minutes after we got home and they stayed the weekend with us. We've had the usually busy start to the week and glad that it's Wednesday already - which means only 2 more days until the weekend!! We need to have a quiet weekend this weekend since the CHRISTmas parties will start after that!

Ok, let's not rush things. I hope you are having a great week!! Talk again soon!

Love,
Nikki
