As for the rest of stuff going on around here.... yep, lots. Karlie is walking everywhere now - no more crawling for her. David and Nathan are doing good this morning. We went to Nathan's teacher conference last week and found out they have to have a lot of skills for kindergarten (count to 30, know ABC's, write Name, recognize some words, know shapes, know address, etc). This was actually a little shocking for me - but Nathan's really close on all these things. He just has issues with answering questions - sometimes he'll "perform" and do what you ask him and sometimes he won't. He must have been having one of those days when his teacher "tested" him because she thinks he doesn't even know his own name.... which is crazy. He does know his name and last name. We need to work on the Address and he's actually getting better at writing his name (he just doesn't like to color/write which I'm thinking is a normal thing for boys). He can almost count all the way to 30 but he misses 16 and then gets to 28 and jumps to 30. He'll get there... he'll be ready!
Boy, it's been a long time since I blogged that I didn't get a chance to tell you about the weekend before last. Steve's Mom & Dad and Mary & Millie came out for a visit. Millie was in a band concert downtown Grand Rapids. The Lake Orion Cadet band (7-8th grade) was invited to the Michigan Music Conference because they placed 1st at the state competion last year. I got to go and watch and are they ever GOOD - forget the age, they are good and very talented. I was completely shocked because I know our band in 8th grade was not that good. I took the following picture that day - Millie's in the middle... she plays my 1st clarinet :-) and is a natural! I took several pictures but couldn't get one of her smiling. I know she had a great time but she was so serious the whole time which was probably from nerves. Anyways - Great Job Millie!!
Back to the present, we had a good and relaxing weekend this weekend... back to the grind. Steve's got a very busy week this week with meetings on the east side of the state today, Wednesday and Thursday. Oh well, that's his job and he gets paid well to do it. Thank-you, Lord for your many provisions!!
Hope you have a great day & week!!
Love,
Nikki

Yeah, well Tom Brady is a UMmer, and I was rooting for him. Oh well, it was a pretty exciting end. (I didn't actually watch the game - was busy searching online stuff!) But that is a really neat tradition you have going - will make for lots of stories in years to come.
Wow, sorry the Patriots lost. I watched part of the game,...it was disappointing, but the Giants had the flu and still won!
Glad Mary and Millie could come out to see you guys--Millie is a sweet girl, and we love her a lot.
