Hi Again!
Ever feel like you just can't win at something no matter what you do??? I feel that way right now with this cold and flu season. We all came down with the flu a few weeks ago and I just expected it to go and we would all be healthy again, right... wrong! David came down with viral bronchitis last week which included a low grade fever. Karlie came down with it the next day and I thought Nathan was just going to stay healthy... wrong again.... he started coughing more Sunday and yesterday and then when he went to bed he coughed so much he up-chucked (sorry to be so gross but it really was very gross!!). I don't think Nathan has stomach flu.... but then again what do I know, I'm just a mom (that's an inside joke between Kim and I but it's very true!). So, Nathan's home from school today and all 3 of them are coughing.....
I know I'm not the only one in this boat. I've talked to 3 other mom's today and they all have sick kids (or they are sick). This is just a really tough time all around for illnesses and we are so ready to be done. I'm so thankful that for the most part these are normal illnesses that when they run their course they are done and the kid's bodies are stronger from fighting the infections. The hard part of being a mom is knowing when they are still contagious and if what they have warrants a trip to the doctor. I'm trying to do the "wait and see" thing but after Steve was diagnosed with pneumonia 3 weeks ago I'm a little more on the edge of wanting to run them in just in case. Oh well, like I said I can't win right now and I'm ready for spring.
Speaking of spring, it's really starting to feel a little more like spring around here. Even though the snow is not completely melted, the temperature is suppose to be upper 30's (possibly low 40's) and sunny most of the week. I'm actually sitting in my kitchen right now typing with my back to the patio door where the sun is coming in so nicely. I love to sit in the sunshine... it's so energizing on so many levels. I hope it just continues on this path so we can get outside soon and get into some of the natural healing rays of the sun.
Ok, enough belly aching for now. Thanks for reading and putting up with my whining! Another bright spot for today is the fact that the top 12 of American Idol starts tonight!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Love,
Nikki
