Just thought I would show you how the Easter bunny has visited our house early this year.... right in our front yard! Steve took these pictures this morning after he snow-blowed the 6+ INCHES OF SNOW in our driveway... yep got hit again with snow and now it's sunny out again. Any who.... this little guy found shelter yesterday from all the wind by burrowing close to our house.... how cute! Welcome Peter!
Speaking of crazy, yesterday my day went from bad to worse before it got better. What happened you ask... Karlie decided she would WALK down the stairs yesterday. She's been soooo good at turning around and crawling downstairs by herself that we took the gate down a few weeks ago. I was downstairs getting David dressed when I heard this noise which sounded like one of the kitchen chairs falling down - it was Karlie falling down the top portion of the stairs and stopping at the landing (thank-you previous owners for building the split stairs!). She busted open her eyebrow just above her left eye. It was pretty bloody, and unfortunately Steve was in Ann Arbor at a meeting and was not able to help. So, I called my neighbor Kristin and she came rushing over to help me decided whether or not to take her to the emergency room. We were able to get it to stop bleeding with a couple steri-strips, but we still thought it needed to be looked at.... so I found someone to watch the boys (thank-you again, Lyndi & Tim!!) and I took Karlie to urgent care (yes, in the middle of the snow advisory yesterday!!).
Praise God - we did the right thing with the steri-strips, and Karlie didn't need any stitches. The doctor even asked me if I had been reading up in the first aid manual... I told him "No, I'm just a Mom" and then explained how Nathan had to have steri-strips on his face after our dog bit him last year (hey, that was almost a year ago - I hope this cut-on-the-face thing is not going to be an annual event in our house!). Here's a picture of our sweet little girl now..... she's not in any pain and really no worse for the wear.
So, early dentist, urgent care, no shower, grumpy, worried mom later... the UPS driver showed up at the front door around 6:00pm last night with a box of flowers..... yep - my wonderful husband had sent me flowers that arrived at the perfect time!! It made me feel better immediately, and I felt very guilty for my grumpy bad attitude that started with the dentist trip. How ones perspective can change drastically in an instant - thanks again, Babe!!
So, I hope this finds you having a great day... Happy Easter!!
Love,
Nikki

Awww, Cudos to Steve! Way to save the day! Sweet little bunny - I am sure he is ready for it to be spring too. Poor Karlie - I hope that isn't a yearly event either. I have to post our first day of spring happening around here (they are far from your 6" of snow). Sorry!
Happy Easter! He is RISEN!
LYMYTTYS!
Me
What a post full of contrasts, the cute and the ugly, bad attitudes and unconditional loving attitudes! The bunny is sooo cute, poor Karlie, and finally, the roses are beautiful!
(Yeah, about that white stuff on the ground...Cristin called yesterday and boasted of the 75 degree weather and a trip to the beach while Dad was out in thermal underwear shoveling!)
