Wrong side of the bed

I definitely got up on the "wrong side of the bed" today... I had a 7:00am dentist appointment!! I know - that's REALLY early for me, but it was an easy child care solution - everyone stayed in bed and I went and had a cleaning. It's not that going to the dentist hurts or anything... but it's still not a fun time... especially at 7:00 in the morning! I'm still trying to wake up and its 10:46am now. Karlie's back down for a nap and the boys are watching TV, so I'm tempted to go climb back in bed for an hour and hope to wake up in a better mood. Somedays its very hard to shake this grumpy/irritable attitude, and the fact that we are going to get about 3+ inches of snow in the next 24 hours is not helping!

You know, now that I think about the significance of today... the remembrance of Christ's crucifixion... I can see why it's so gloomy... it had to happen, though... His sacrifice... so we could be reconciled to God... but it still was a horrible thing to have to go through... especially considering the fact He willing died for even the ungrateful, dishonest, evil people in the world. How mind boggling is that - Christ died because He loved the WORLD (everyone) so much and His sacrifice is the only "once for all" sacrifice acceptable to God as payment for sin. He paid what we couldn't and it's right there waiting to be accepted as a "free gift" for those who truly accept it.... Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." I'm so greatful to God for ALL He has done for me.... I hope you are too!!

It's Friday, but Sunday is coming!! And in the tradition of a favorite old hymn... Up from the grave He AROSE!!!!!! To God be ALL honor, glory and praise!

Happy Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday!!
Love,
Nikki

This picture was taken last Saturday of the boys playing out back in the sand box. They didn't play outside for very long since it was still cold...but it was good for them to get out there!
