I don't know about you, but I think they look a little smitten with each other. David was "driving" and Ellie (our backdoor neighbor) was riding. She just loved to sit in the passenger seat and let David drive - even if he wasn't steering. He would keep his foot on the pedal and go - yep, into trees or the sandbox - didn't matter they were having fun. I was having fun capturing them on my camera. Ellie & David are the same age and they play fairly well together. All the kids could just spend hours on end outside in the sandboxes or swingsets.

We're doing good here today. I love the weather right now... just right (75 and sunny ... sounds like a Relient K song!). It's so funny that with all the talk of Global Warming - we are actually quite cooler this year than last year. The local news weather reporter always gives us a little "tidbit" of how we are not actually warming! Funny how God made the earth to be cyclical and adjust itself. Ok, enough about that - I know these are hot buttons for some people and I don't like to debate!

My parents were here this weekend for a visit. Yeah - my Dad fixed our leaky kitchen faucet and then helped panel the kids "secret" play area under the stairs in our basement. Thank-you, Dad!! The kids love to play "house" or "store" under the stairs and bring me my butter bear latte! (I think it's hilarious that they know my favorite Bigby coffee... yep, I'm a frequent buyer!). We also got to go golfing this weekend, and I was actually very close to beating my dad for the 1st time ever. I would love to be able to play more, but I'll take what I can get.

Last weekend, we had our good friends Todd & Shelley over. They were in town from Florida, and they came out on Friday night and stayed with us. We miss them and we had a great time catching up. Todd has a new venture... he's trying to make the Guiness book of world records for making the biggest picture ever. He's actually got a fool proof plan to shatter the existing record so there won't be any competition for some time. If you are interested and want to help him out click here. He's set up a website where you can actually buy a pixel and help him & others via a fundraiser program that he's set up. It's really cool and he's also got a really cool picture of the space shuttle taking off at night.

Let's see, what else is going on. There's actually a lot of things stirring around in my head... lessons that I've learned over the past couple of weeks or so... how fragile life is, how terrific grace is, how precious friends are, how energizing family is, and just how utterly amazing God is. You know, it's so easy to get caught up in things of the earth that really don't make a hill of beans of a difference to God. Some things can even get in the way of our walk with the Lord. Our pastor preached an amazing sermon this Sunday based on the verse Phil 1:21 that says "to live is Christ and to die is gain".... wow. If you want to listen to the sermon click here or go to Chapel Pointe.

Ok, I need to finish up this blog. The kids are definitely not in good moods right now and dinner is just about ready. Hope you have a great night! Mine, hopefully, will calm back down after the kids get some more food!

Love,
Nikki
