Fun Times!

WOW - the weather here in Michigan is unseasonably warm today.... 70+ and BEAUTIFUL sunshine!! I just love these warm sunny days when you are prepping yourself for the cold (which is right around the corner for us!). It's like you can just feel a warm hug from God on these days. I'm trying to soak in the sunshine today so I can remind myself on the blistering cold days that it will be warm up again.

We had a great weekend this last weekend. My parents came down on Friday in time for dinner and trick-or-treating with the kids. Our friends Trevor & Tami came over as well. The kids were so cute in their costumes! Steve & Trevor took the kids trunk-or-treating, which was kinda a bust this year. Last year the boys got sooooo much candy trunk-or-treating, we couldn't resist going again. Little did we know, most of the churches in the area did their trunk-or-treating earlier in the week (I'm still baffled as to why they moved a Halloween activity off of 10/31?? but something I need to get over!).

The kids still had fun and got enough candy. I stayed back at the house with Tami, my parents & Karlie. We got a lot more kids at the door this year - over 60! Considering the fact that we probably got less than 30 last year, it was huge turnout. My mom & I ended up taking Karlie around the cul-de-sac trick-or-treating. She LOVED it!! I had her dressed in a pumpkin jogging suit, so instead of wrestling her back into her piglet costume, we just let her go as she was. She took to it like fish to water... no fear, just candy crazy! She was soooo cute saying "trk rrr tweet"... PRICELESS!

After trick-or-treating, the adults played "take 2" and the kids watched movies... lots of fun. My parents stayed the rest of the weekend and got to go to church with us on Sunday. We had a wonderful, relaxing visit with them which is nice just before the ever approaching Thanksgiving/Christmas rush. Here are some pictures... enjoy the slide show (the first pics are taken downtown GR - I took the kids to Steve's office for Halloweeen and we all got to go out to lunch... yummm!).

DON'T forget to vote today!!

Love,
Nikki
