Nathan's last day of Kindergarten!

Well, he's done and is successfully moving on to 1st grade! I really can't believe we are at the end of the school year already. I remember (vividly) fretting about whether or not he would ever eat lunch at school. To my surprise, he ate his lunch everyday. Mind you, it was always the same pb&j sandwich and snack, but he did it and even enjoyed buying milk!

He did so well and has grown so much this school year... my boy is getting so big!! Here's what he chose to wear his last day of school - he still loves his cowboy hat Granna!!

brother had to get in on the action :)

Karlie, David & I went up to school for his end-of-the-year "tasty tidbit picnic". Everyone was to bring some sort of small sample of a favorite food. This was very challenging for me since Nathan is SO picky! So here's what I decided on... ritz crackers with pb&j and a grape on top (I always loved the appetizers that my mom made when I was a kid... she always did some sort of cheese & meat on a toothpick and then put them on a cracker... so thanks mom for the inspiration!). Unfortunately, Nathan didn't think it was a good idea. In fact, he actually cried about them this morning and said he didn't want them (errrrr! I told him he didn't have to eat them, but he needed to be nice and not so rude!).

Here's the grand buffet!

And what he chose... mmmm that's exciting! He picked up the simplest things on the table... wouldn't even try the yummy little sandwiches I made :(

Karlie & David did great in the classroom while we were there. They even got to have a couple snacks and read some books.

Every picnic needs a picnic blanket!

Nathan's home early on the last day.....

To ALL our surpise, Daddy came home early to see Nathan get home! Steve actually went up to school to pick him up, but Nathan wanted to ride the bus home (what?!). Nathan was crying again when he got off the bus, because after telling his Daddy several times he wanted to ride the bus... he had changed his mind (after Daddy had left school) :( I'm confused too, but he's rebounded now and is officially done! Nathan's Daddy is SO WONDERFUL.... great idea Babe! I just love that you took a half day!

Now Karlie is taking her nap and we will be taking Nathan out for dinner tonight. His choice is the balloon restaurant (aka Red Robbin). Although he only gets a grilled cheese and fries, he's actually a big fan of the restaurant. :)

Where does the time go? Now he's a big 1st grader. Don't blink pretty soon David and Karlie. I'm glad he still enjoys his cowboy hat. We're so proud of him. LYB Granna and Papa
